White Pass (357.7) – Trout Lake (423.7): 0 miles / 389.5 total miles walked

I didn’t sleep at all last night. Partly due to the smoke and fire smell, partly due to noisy neighbors. So I woke up cranky. But the beautiful sky made up for any fatigue….and the nice guy working at the lodge who let me use the pool bathroom.

PCT Day 34: Making it back to civilization, and more smoke

Thursday, 9 August 2018

Crag Lake Outlet & Tentsite (341.7) – White Pass (357.7): 16 miles / 389.5 total miles walked (+.6 to town)

So I was almost asleep when Sink says ‘Hey, wasn’t that Schllamanda?’, and of course we yell her name and she appears. She had to leave Surefoot behind, but she caught up to us. 😁 She set up her tent next to our site and I soon passed out from fatigue.

Waking up in complete darkness and packing up, this is becoming a theme. 😁 But it’s a town day, so Sink and I are all excited, getting a move on at 5 am.

First break was a few miles and a climb away, and by the time we made it there, the flies were out in force.

PCT Day 32: Trailversary / Beautiful Burn

Tuesday, 7 August 2018

Mike Urich Cabin (305.6) – Tentsite (324.8): 19.2 miles / 354.5 total miles walked

I do not enjoy camping near other people. It’s always too loud. Especially if you really want and need to sleep, they end up chopping wood at 10 pm. At which point I yelled at them. It helped for a while….long enough for me to fall asleep anyway. When my alarm went off at 4:45 I was not a happy camper, but I still packed up and started walking. Cause what else are you going to do, right?

PCT Day 31: Another trail celebrity sighting

Monday, 6 August 2018

Tentsite (285.5) – Mike Urich Cabin (305.6): 20.1 miles / 335.3 total miles walked

Today was one of the first days where my alarm actually woke me up. Usually I’m awake about 5 minutes before. I really wanted to sleep more, but I packed up and got a move on at 5:25. The first almost 4 miles to the next water went by quickly, even though there were some steep uphill climbs to tackle.

PCT Day 29: Escaping the vortex and receiving trail magic

Saturday, 4 August 2018

Snoqualmie Pass (259.5) – Mirror Lake (268.3): 8.8 miles / 298.2 total miles walked

I did sleep reasonably well, and we all kind of woke up around 7. I took a shower, organized unpack and had some of Naked River’s delicious zucchini bread. And then some real breakfast food around an hour later.
