Tentsite (241.4) – Snoqualmie (259.5): 18.1 miles / 289.4 total miles walked

Considering I was in such pain last night and pretty much squeezed in between the two tents on a slant, I slept well. I saw the sun rise this morning and packed up quickly. I tried hiking in my sleep pants at first, but that only made the chaffing hurt worse.

Steven’s Pass (188.4) – Tentsite (192): 3.6 miles / 221.9 total miles walked

After another night in the bunkhouse, I had some baguette and cream cheese for breakfast before figuring out my food for the next section of hiking. The upcoming 75 miles between Steven’s and Snoqualmie Pass are the hardest section on the entire PCT, in terms of elevation gain and loss, with almost 30000ft of climbing and descending.

Grizzly Peak (174) – Steven’s Pass (188.4): 14.4 miles / 218.3 total miles walked

My alarm went off at 4:30 and I packed up insanely fast, just because I didn’t want to get eaten alive by the bloodthirsty insects. I started walking at 5 am and basically didn’t stop until I needed water at 7:30. And and Deerbait and a little later Fuad showed up. Like the rest of us, he was almost completely out of food, had had even less to work with for the last couple of days. What we do for following our passion, right?
